Last week, the Oxford Medical Research Council (MRC) Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) symposium took place online. The MRC-DTP symposium is a fantastic opportunity for MRC funded students to present their research and network with other students.
There was a huge turnout for attendance and the day was filled with outstanding talks by students within the Medical Sciences Division.
A component of the day involved a 3-minute research competition (3MRC). This is a great challenge for giving an overview of your DPhil research but here's the catch - you're only given 3 minutes! Time to start the clock...

We are very proud to announce that Sophie Hughes from the O'Neill group was selected by the panel as the winner of this competition!! Her talk on 'Investigating immune infiltrate in the pancreatic tumour microenvironment using a 17-colour flow panel' was fascinating and in receipt of some excellent questions and great feedback! Sophie is in the second year of her DPhil in Oncology and we're excited to see where her project goes! Well done Sophie - keep up the good work!
We would also like to give a huge congratulations to Shahd Fouad from the D'Angiolella group for her highly commended presentation entitled 'Investigating the role of cyclin F in oncogene-induced DNA replication stress'.
Congratulations to everyone who participated and a huge well done for those who helped organise it to make such a brilliant symposium happen!
